Stage 1 - Damage Assessment

The very first thing we do to begin the repair process is create a Comprehensive Damage Report (CDR). This report is much more in depth than the outdated estimate and allows us to fully prepare for the repair of your vehicle. Smaller, surface damage can be inspected while you wait in our front office, but larger damages are scheduled in to be left for a couple of hours to create a full repair plan. This step allows us to have every part we need waiting for you when your vehicle arrives, it prevents delays due to supplements with the insurance company, and it prevents surprises while we are repairing your vehicle. |

During the CDR the vehicle will go into our assessment bay where it’ll be driven up on a lift so the underside of the vehicle can be studied. Access panels and/or bumper covers will be removed for inspection and re-installed. Measurements will be taken with one of our Spanasi “Touch” computerized measuring systems if there’s a chance of frame or unibody damage. Pictures of the damage will be taken and all of the necessary identification information will be noted including the VIN #, any trim codes, the color code, and the production date. The parts necessary for the repair will be itemized and the availability of these parts will be checked before the repair is scheduled. |
