Dave’s been in the collision repair business since 1971 when he went to work for Universal Body Shop after graduating from Crockett High School in Austin. While at Universal Dave completed a 4 year apprenticeship program and became one of the last “Master Automobile Body Man” to be certified as such. In 1986 Dave founded Premier Autobody where he worked until 1999, when he sold the shop to Caliber Collision. By the time Premier Autobody was sold it was one of the largest collision repair facilities in Central Texas.
After selling Premier Dave, Teri, his wife of 24 years, and his two youngest daughters, Caitlin and Nanoo, packed up and traveled around the country for 15 months visiting 44 states, 4 Canadian Provinces, and Mexico. When his non-compete agreement with Caliber expired in May of 2004, Dave went to work creating Express Autobody. Dave’s daughters Caitlin and Nanoo work with him at Express, but it’s easy to see he treats the whole staff here like family.
